Fire Chief’s Message on Pioneer Day

Welcome to the 62nd Annual Pioneer Day. The Placer Hills Firefighters Association with the assistance of the community sponsors this event. It is our attempt to thank the public for all the support and provide all of us with a nice day together.

Every year brings change to the fire department. We now staff both our Meadow Vista and Weimar stations 24 hours a day with a combination of full-time, part-time and volunteer employees who I believe are the best in the County. We always have at least one paramedic on duty and about 70%of the time we have one at both staffed stations. We always need more volunteers and any interested persons should contact our main station in Meadow Vista. We need volunteers for all 3 stations, Meadow Vista, Applegate and Weimar.

The Department is involved in a number of programs to assist our public. We can arrange property inspections for fire safety, and brush clearing for the elderly and/or disabled. We can assist anyone with smoke detector problems and we offer code compliant home address signs through a grant from Placer County. For help with any of the above programs, call our station in Meadow Vista (530-878-0405).

We are proud and honored to be able to help protect this wonderful community. Please call us if we can provide any services or help.

Ian Gow,

                 Fire Chief
